Ways You Can Promote In-World Events Directly:
- Make a flyer (in Photoshop, Canva, or other design programs) and use this to promote the event in real life and SL.and create a landmark to your event location
- Make a notecard in Second Life and send to all of your SL groups and friends, including Nonprofit Commons Community and Nonprofit Commons
- By blogging to the community blog (if you want to be a blogger for Nonprofit Commons, sign up with a username and password at NonprofitCommons.org and email community@nonprofitcommons.org your username)
- Email the Nonprofit Commons Google Group about it. Include a slurl to the event location and send a reminder on the day of the event
- Email relevant listserv groups:
- Post it to your personal Twitter, Facebook, and other online social networking sites that you belong to. Post it to the NPSL Facebook pageand LinkedIn group, and the NPSL promotion team will promote this to the NPSL Twitter,
- Submit your event to the NPSL event calendar and this will be added and streamed stream into the NPC in-world events calendar. Common spaces, such as the NPC Common Ground party space and amphitheaters are available for people to use for nonprofit-related events. If you want to schedule using this space, please email community@nonprofitcommons.com to let us know and then add it to the event calendar so the space is reserved and we don't have conflicting events.
- Post the event to the secondlife.com events siteand forums
- Come to our weekly meeting, every Friday from 8:30-9:30am PST/SLT and speak at open mike at the end of the meeting or email community@nonprofitcommons.com if you'd like to be on the meeting agenda
- Tag your photos NPSL, and they will be in our Flickr stream on NonprofitCommons.org

TWITTER
- When you have an event that you think would be compelling for a broad audience tweet a message to @NPSL and @secondlife so that I can then retweet it. Follow this basic tweet format to give our followers some consistency: @secondlife event title | date | time | Bit.ly SLurl of event or URL to event calendar
For example: @secondlife Dublin's St. Paddy's Day Parade March 17th, 3 PM PST
