This Friday, September 4th, TechSoup’s NonProfit Commons in Second Life will feature Lea Tesoro (Opal Lei in Second Life) who will share her perspectives on current marketing practices in Second Life and other virtual worlds, with emphasis on service providers, such as custom builders, musicians, and event organizers. She will talk about the challenges of finding service providers in virtual worlds and how her new directory project (avahyr.com) might provide a viable solution to this problem.
As a content creator, Opal Lei has focused on marketing her products in Second Life since she started her Mer Betta brand eight years ago, and on marketing her book “Love, Like Dim Sum” since she published it 3 years ago. These days, she’s focused on marketing the services of other people in virtual worlds. In real life, Opal holds an MBA with emphases on entrepreneurship and international business, and she is currently pursuing a Digital Marketing certificate. She is extending what she learns from her certification classes to virtual reality.
