[08:49] Sarvana Haalan: About Me
Hello, I am Sarvana Haalan, SL avatar and “business partner” for a very real life person, Sally S. Cherry, MT(ASCP) based in Baltimore, MD. As an independent consultant and instructor, I work as a social media consultant and the Laboratory Consultant for the CDC-sponsored STD/HIV Prevention Training Center at Johns Hopkins located in Baltimore.

We have been involved with computer-based projects and internet marketing since 1996. We enjoy learning new technology related concepts and designing web-based projects. We both get excited about visiting, exploring, networking, and building within the virtual world communities. We started our virtual world explorations as a Metaplace beta tester in April 2009 while occasionally visiting Second Life.
[08:49] Sarvana Haalan: In my earlier years, I was a “lurker” because I was very intimidated by Second Life and some of its residents. So while living at the “Between Homes”, a cozy shelter for homeless avatars, I just visited various Second Life destinations and did my “networking” thing.
[08:50] Sarvana Haalan: A Bit of History
During our time in the 2D world of Metaplace, Sarvana became a very active community member and was selected as a featured creator in August 2009 (http://metaplace.posterous.com/metaplace-featured-creator-sarvana-read-t…). So when Metaplace closed down in January 2010, we migrated to Second Life with a small group of Metaplace friends and started to rebuild our various projects. Thus the rebirth of ‚ÄúReal to Virtual; Virtual to Real‚Äù in Second Life and later expanded into OpenSim.
[08:51] Sarvana Haalan: it was a major adjustment
[08:51] Sarvana Haalan: Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was my initial destination of interest, TechSoup’s Nonprofit Commons soon became my favorite community. It was here where Lizzette Zenovka invited me to my first virtual gala (Relay for Life) and I met Brena who invited me to a Thursday evening event. Both actions made me feel very welcome here… so I stayed and You are stuck with me… LOL, LOL.
[08:52] Sarvana Haalan: first impression do last!
[08:52] Brena Benoir: 🙂
[08:52] Sarvana Haalan: Seriously, the positive interaction lead me to want to get more involved in the in-world nonprofit community and to get local nonprofits involved in this amazing collaborative community. When the AIDS service organization where I worked as the Project Manager closed down, I decided to develop a social media capacity building program for nonprofits and business startups.
[08:52] DyVerse Jeffery-Steele (dyverse): I was a dj in metaplace dj’d there a couple of times and did presentation on hiv/aids
[08:53] Sarvana Haalan: cool
[08:53] Sarvana Haalan: I must acknowledge that I got much inspiration and encouragement from my participation in a 2009 Skills Building Institute for HIV Testing and Awareness Day Events and Campaigns: “Mobilized to Succeed” sponsored by AIDS.gov, POZ Magazine, and NAPWA. Kudos to Miguel Gomez, Ian Anderson, and Michelle Samplin-Salgado. (http://blog.aids.gov/2009/04/ready-to-share-napwa-embraces-new-media.html)
[08:53] Sarvana Haalan: Our business concept, “Real to Virtual; Virtual to Real” is embodied in our real life and in-world projects. The primary goal of our virtual building projects is to promote, educate, and network within our virtual world communities as well as our real life community. It is felt that any real life project (part or the entire project) can be integrated into a virtual world community to enhance the mission of the organization.
[08:54] Sarvana Haalan: In 2011, I recommended Chayen of Protect Yourself 1, Inc to join the community and the rest is history. (Protect Yourself 1, was a client at the time.) Recently, we are developing and conducting “Real To Virtual; Virtual to Real Workshops” working with a local university. It is hoped that funding can be obtained to assist more local nonprofits because many organizations are unable to the cover the related cost. Although response has been slow, we totally embrace our mission and vision.
[08:54] Sarvana Haalan: Wooot, PY!
[08:54] Chayenn: yes thank u
[08:55] Sarvana Haalan: they are off and running… so cool
[08:55] Sarvana Haalan: The “Virtual to Real” is the networking component of our concept… the networks established in-world are integrated into our real life networks. This has indeed happened with some many awesome networking partners over the years that we have been in-world.
[08:56] Sarvana Haalan: The virtual business complex, “SarVana Business Centre” was designed, built and established to serve as the virtual headquarters for SarVana Marketing Network.
[08:56] Sarvana Haalan: I look forward to bring more local nonprofits into the NPSL community.
[08:56] Sarvana Haalan: Although it was started in Second Life, components of our Real to Virtual; Virtual to Real Project can be found in Second Life, JokaydiaGRID, and most recently Kitely. Our interactive STD/STI Training Laboratory and Community HIV/AIDS Resource Exchange Center are located in CherNetiva @ jokaydiaGrid managed by Sarvana Cherry.
[08:57] Sarvana Haalan: In Second Life, our focus to getting more nonprofits involved and using the technology to enhance their missions and causes. Thank you for this opportunity to share!
[08:57] Zinnia Zauber: Wonderful Sar!

[09:02] Namaara MacMoragh: 🙂
[09:02] Zayn: Thank you for asking us to come by this morning! We are the folks from Jazz Paws!
[09:02] Zayn Till: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:02] Zayn: We’re a production company in the real world.
[09:02] karmagirl Avro: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:02] Zayn: Our origins however are rooted here in Second Life and our goals are twofold.. Or is it Threefold.. hmm..
[09:02] Teal Freenote: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:02] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): (snort)
[09:02] Etheria Parrott: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:02] Zayn: Well we have goals! They’re good goals! 🙂
[09:02] Zayn: I’m Zayn and this is Wynx, and we are the creators and founders of The Tinies of Raglan Shire.
[09:02] Zayn: Without going into details, we have years of experience and formal training in graphic design, art, music and other real world skills that lend themselves quite well to what we’re working on as do our friends… *points to friends*
[09:02] Zayn: With us are our friends and real life members of Jazz Paws: Clover, Etheria, Karma and Teal! They fabulously nice and talented folken 🙂
[09:03] Zayn: Since you’re here in Second Life. I’ll tell you in detail where this all starts from…
[09:03] Zayn: Our origins as mentioned above start seven years back. With the creation of “The Tinies”
[09:03] Zayn: in 2005 Kage Seraph was the first to crush a standard Second Life “human” avatar down into a compact size.
[09:03] Zayn: He then overlaid “Prim parts” on the now crushed avatar and created the first “Small” avatar.
[09:03] Zayn: This first avatar was a small robot. He then made the animation overrider/scripts available to anyone wanting to use this method for making small avatars.
[09:03] Zayn: About the same time Wynx here had a DREAM in the real world.. This is a true story..
[09:03] Zayn: TELL EM ITS A TRUE STORY WYNX! 🙂
[09:03] Wynx Whiplash: YES
[09:03] Zayn Till: 😀
[09:03] Wynx Whiplash: it’s all troo
[09:03] Zayn:
[09:03] Zayn: K so Wynx was already creating STUFF in Second Life and was selling her content on the grid.
[09:03] Zayn: So she has a REAL dream one night. In this dream she was surrounded by adorable cute little small and upright animals..
[09:03] Zayn: and they loved her!
[09:03] karmagirl Avro: STUFF!!!
[09:03] Zayn: She awoke with a start and immediately realized that she HAD TO MAKE THESE ANIMALS in Second Life.
[09:04] Zayn: She contacted Kage Seraph who graciously made his crushing method available to her, and over the next month,
[09:04] Zayn: created the prims, painted textures and further animations that would result in the first of many more small animal avatars.. LIKE US…
[09:04] Zayn Till: BAM!!!!
[09:04] Zayn: She dubbed her creations “TINIES” and released them to the Second Life Public where they were gobbled up by the users of the grid with much enthusiasm.
[09:04] Sarvana Haalan: awesome
[09:04] Zayn: The Tinies became an instant hit.. and it was GOOD! 🙂
[09:04] Zayn Till: Hoooo!
[09:04] Zayn: Raglan Shire which was developed as the first Tiny Centric community and series of sims came along a few years later.
[09:04] Teal Freenote: ‚ô©‚ô™‚ô´‚ô¨ APPAWS! ‚ô©‚ô™‚ô´‚ô¨
[09:04] Namaara MacMoragh: yeah!
[09:04] Wynx Whiplash: |o/
[09:04] Zayn: In early 2007, I had been managing several sims that I owned.
[09:04] Zayn: I really had wanted to create a community , and I was already a Tiny avatar myself half of the time.
[09:04] Zayn: A friend who knew Wynx communicated to me that she and her friends who had a shop group together (Extrovirtual) were leaving the sim they had set up their SL business on and were looking for a new Virtual home.
[09:05] Zayn: We set up a meeting and discussed the idea of them moving onto my sims and in April of 2007 Raglan Shire opened its doors as a virtual place and as a COMMUNITY for tinies and friends to explore and become a part of.
[09:05] Zayn: Raglan Shire over the last 5 years has been one of the most dynamic virtual places on the Second Life Grid.
[09:05] Zayn: Spread out over 8 sims, it’s a lush forested setting of varying locales with tiny residential areas, shops and lots and lots of public areas for people to explore and enjoy.
[09:05] Zayn: There are a constant stream of events and activities and the focus from the start has always been about finding ways to bring people together in a friendly and welcoming and fun environment where people can interact, collaborate, be encouraged to create
[09:05] Zayn Till: I repeat, FRIENDLY WELCOMING AND FUN
[09:05] Zayn Till: 🙂
[09:05] Zayn: Its a very fun place. We do a lot of things. People really seem to like it.
[09:05] Zayn: So a few years back we talked and decided that all the things we do on Raglan Shire.. have real life merit.. and the tinies? Well the tinies are just super adorable.. and the backdrop of Raglan Shire? It was a excellent backdrop! We realized that Raglan S
[09:05] Zayn: So Wynx and myself with positive support from our friends formed JAZZ PAWS
[09:06] Zayn Till: oops
[09:06] Zayn Till: lol
[09:06] Clover Dezno: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:06] Zayn: Our goal is to re-imagine the Tinies and the World of Raglan Shire and present it to the rest of the world..
[09:06] Zayn: reach people we can’t ever hope to reach while in Second Life or Inworldz, and be able to do so in a much more fleshed out manner, artistically and story wise …
[09:06] Etheria Parrott: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:06] Zayn: That’s the FIRST of the Twofold Goals.. Lemme elaborate on this one first before going onto the Second.
[09:06] Zayn: So over the last two years we have been doing nothing other then developing new art, new models, new stories and scripts, music… new characters to center these ideas around… as I just mentioned ,
[09:06] Zayn: essentially recreating and re-imagining “The Tinies of Raglan Shire”
[09:06] Zayn: This has been just … just a ton of work. In addition to the creative side, there’s also been the business side. Its just been a tremendous amount of work. But we knew it would be.
[09:07] Zayn: So re-imagine the world, make it better, make it BIONIC.. tell the stories of the Tinies, share them with the world, Entertain people of ALL ages, make them smile.
[09:07] Zayn: That’s what we’re furiously working on as we prepare to sit down with Entertainment Industry representatives and pitch all of this too in 2013.
[09:07] Zayn: Our Second FOLD of our goals… and it’s something we have been trying to make certain that everyone understands AND is the TRUE ULTERIOR Goal of all of this.. is to use “The Tinies of Raglan Shire” to fund our desire to help people with humanitarian and
[09:07] Zayn: Art and Music, ways to help the sick or diabled and developmentally disabled… These are things that have touched us in Our community virtually and ourselves personally in the real world.
[09:07] Zayn Till: Humanitariand and PHILANTHROPIC goals..
[09:07] Zayn Till: k this Text thingy not working so well jhehe
[09:08] Zayn Till: i take over manually from here 🙂
[09:08] karmagirl Avro: ~*~ GO TEAM TINY!!!!!! ~*~
[09:08] Clover Dezno: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:08] Teal Freenote: HELLOOOOOOOo KNEES!!!!
[09:08] Zayn Till: basically we want to use our concept to brand and use as a gateway to fund and make known our desires to start create and maintain Humanitarian organization type offerings
[09:08] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): thats really inspiring you guys
[09:09] Wynx Whiplash: I’ll jump in
[09:09] Zayn Till: 🙂
[09:09] karmagirl Avro: you can see a video of this on our kickstarter link
[09:09] Namaara MacMoragh: love kickstarter
[09:09] karmagirl Avro: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1203270798/the-tinies-of-raglan-shire
[09:10] Teal Freenote: click dis red button 🙂
[09:10] Wynx Whiplash: For years the community of Raglan Shire has raised money for worthy organizations, even helping ot memebers with money when they have been in trouble
[09:10] karmagirl Avro: in the video you can see what exactly we trying to do 😉
[09:10] Teal Freenote: you can see kickstarte project
[09:10] Wynx Whiplash: and it was great, but there’s so much more we can do
[09:10] Wynx Whiplash: and want to do
[09:10] Sarvana Haalan: I was just about to suggest Kickstarter
[09:11] karmagirl Avro: oh we welcome suggestions!
[09:11] Wynx Whiplash: and we felt like we had something we could give to the world to raise money to do the things we wanted to concentrate on
[09:11] Sarvana Haalan: a collegue in DC just got funding for his Social Media magazine project
[09:11] Zayn Till: You can click the links in chat or touch the two objects rezzed to the right of us to get to our web page, our kickstarter page where you can see our fikm we made. all the info is there 🙂
[09:11] Wynx Whiplash: yesh
[09:11] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): How are you drawing attentio nto your kickstarted campaign?
[09:11] Sarvana Haalan: *colleague
[09:11] Teal Freenote: JAZZ PAWS WEBSITE: http://www.jazzpaws.com

JAZZ PAWS @ KICKSTARTER: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1203270798/the-tinies-of-raglan-shire
[09:11] karmagirl Avro: we hoping to get our funding but we not yet at our goal
[09:11] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): what social media are you using?
[09:11] Clover Dezno: I will take that one’
[09:11] Wynx Whiplash: Clover, you want to talk about that?
[09:11] Wynx Whiplash: yay
[09:12] Wynx Whiplash: XD
[09:12] Clover Dezno: we are taking advantage of all social media that we cna get into
[09:12] Zayn Till: http://www.facebook.com/JazzPawsLLC
[09:12] Clover Dezno: and we are using our own personal netowrks to drive friends and family to those site
[09:12] Clover Dezno: and asking them to pass it along if tey find us worthy of support
[09:12] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): that’s often the most effective strategy
[09:12] Clover Dezno: we have no marketing or promo funds, so we are going entirely viral at this point
[09:12] Clover Dezno: and we certaily we come suggestions
[09:13] Clover Dezno: *welcome
[09:13] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I think TechSoup has done some webinars on kikcsarter type fundraising
[09:13] Clover Dezno: we are on facebook andw e are trying to understand Linked In enough to use it
[09:13] Sarvana Haalan: Just posted our lik on m FB page
[09:13] Teal Freenote: WE are using twitter as well
[09:13] Sarvana Haalan: link
[09:13] Zayn Till: yay likes 🙂
[09:13] Glitteractica Cookie: we did one on fundraising 2.0 for onprofits. on our NP live series
[09:14] Teal Freenote: Our base in the tiny community here is out there sharing and liking 🙂
[09:14] Clover Dezno: the social media make it kind of hard to exist out there as a “business”, they want to default to personal sites
[09:14] Wynx Whiplash: (wel, the other peeps are using Twitter – me, not so much. >_<)
[09:14] Clover Dezno: so we are kind of struggling
[09:14] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): My sense is that LinkedIn is not the best platform for fundraising this kind of campaign
[09:14] Teal Freenote: Virtual press releases have resulted in some blog notices, that have drawn attention and donors.
[09:15] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): entertaining YouTube appeals can be really effective if done well
[09:15] Clover Dezno: we have appeared on the blogs of some friends, and oen actually resulted in Zayn being contacted for an interview wiht BBC Radio
[09:15] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): nice!
[09:15] Clover Dezno: and yes we are plannign to go to youtube as well
[09:15] Wynx Whiplash: well, we did do a video. 😀
[09:15] Zayn Till: oh ya , we were intervied the other day on The BBC
[09:15] Clover Dezno: but again, we have to drive traffic there
[09:16] Clover Dezno: and we are a small network right now
[09:16] Zayn Till: a “TINY” network 🙂
[09:16] Clover Dezno: YESH
[09:16] karmagirl Avro: yes you might even say tiny 😀
[09:16] karmagirl Avro: again, our facebook page is this: http://www.facebook.com/JazzPawsLLC if anyone wants to join
[09:17] Clover Dezno: if we cna secure this most immediate funding goal, we cna then continue our production of proof-of-concept materials and demos, and atthat poinr hopefully we cans eek some larger investors
[09:17] karmagirl Avro: like our page! share it!
[09:17] Wynx Whiplash: yeah, wot she said
[09:17] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): are you hoping to launch a traditional broadcast series, or a web series?
[09:17] Wynx Whiplash: hopefully traditional
[09:18] Zayn Till: our main goal in regards to that question… is
[09:18] Zayn Till: we’re trying to put together a successful pitch.. this is what we’re working oin and what the funding is for..
[09:18] Sarvana Haalan: who is your primary target population?
[09:18] Zayn Till: getting to the point where we have 3 Proof of concept short animations.. scrips, bible, stories merchandicing and marketing plan
[09:18] Wynx Whiplash: we’re hoping for a wide demographic but family oriented
[09:19] Glitteractica Cookie: Can you tell us about a particular sucessful fundraising effort you have done?
[09:19] Wynx Whiplash: Yes, Glitteractica – we have sold swag from our website
[09:19] Wynx Whiplash: small to start
[09:20] Wynx Whiplash: we offered 2 kinds of t-shirts and a series of buttons, keychains, magnets
[09:20] Glitteractica Cookie: and how much did you raise? For which nonprofit group?
[09:20] Teal Freenote: money raised from these items helped fund character rigging
[09:20] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): what kind of swag?
[09:20] Wynx Whiplash: we did orders for a few weeks and are about to do a 2nd swag push and will have our shop up for a longer time, if not permanently this time.
[09:21] Zayn Till: as i explained to Rik, we’re not raising money for a non profit group right now and we are NOT a non profit group (oither then having no money jhehe) what we hope to do one day is use our concept as a gateway and if successful be able to use monies raised to FUND our own non profit ideas in the future
[09:21] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): that’s totally cool
[09:21] Teal Freenote: however…
[09:22] Wynx Whiplash: and our swag money we raised was for our productions – the other fundraising things you are probably talking about was the non profits we raised money for was the Raglan Shire group’s thing. Zayn…?
[09:22] Wynx Whiplash: (Zayn has the facts & figures)
[09:22] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I invited you here so we could learn from how you are doing fundraising and spreading your brand across other social spaces
[09:22] Wynx Whiplash: and is typing away. 😀
[09:22] Zayn Till: in the past in Second Life Raglan Shire in our own community we have over the past 5 years raised over $3000 for One.org and various other chairities and orgs
[09:23] Zayn Till: Rik actually covered our very first big event years anbd years ago when we had our first fundraising foray
[09:23] Etheria Parrott: and adopted some animals in zoos
[09:23] Zayn Till: YESH
[09:23] Etheria Parrott: We has a giraffe :))
[09:23] Zayn Till: we have an adopted Tapir and a giraffe
[09:23] Etheria Parrott: and a tapir!
[09:23] Zayn Till: GIRAFFE!!!!!
[09:23] karmagirl Avro: ~*~ TAPIR!! ~*~
[09:24] jacmacaire Humby: Hi everyone.. Sorry to be in late
[09:24] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): oh wow I forgt about that!
[09:24] Zayn Till: fundraising.. again through Kickstarter, word of mouth, friends families and soon in the real world , with approaching angel investors.. working on real life marketing plan and the like to approach business entitities
[09:25] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): can you guys say a bit more about the tinies community in general
[09:25] Glitteractica Cookie: I’m interested in learning how we can learn from your successes as a vibrant community in SL
[09:25] Glitteractica Cookie: yes, Rik, exactly… how many members, how often are you throwing events
[09:26] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): Why has it been successful when so many others have died out or fled o other platforms
[09:26] Glitteractica Cookie: what kind of events?
[09:26] Teal Freenote: I think because its FUN primarily 🙂
[09:26] Zayn Till: TIny community… zomg it just amazing, its creative silly, non Status quo.. could right a book on tinyness
[09:26] 01 Hifeng: lol i see you guys love animals… i bought two chinchillas about week ago
[09:26] Teal Freenote: But also has attracted many smart, creative people and encouraged them
[09:26] Wynx Whiplash: maybe instead of a book, we’ll just make an animated show. 😉
[09:26] Zayn Till: yeah!
[09:26] Clover Dezno: yes, we focus on community building, not just come in, have fun, leave
[09:27] karmagirl Avro: we do a book after „ã°
[09:27] Glitteractica Cookie: Talk to us more about the community bldg aspect
[09:27] Wynx Whiplash: chinchillas! so CUTE!!!
[09:27] Bathsheba Vizenor (bathsheba.darkfold): is there a list of events online or at Raglanshire?
[09:27] Zayn Till: best way really.. to see what tinydom is all about.. is to come by the Shire.. especially during one of event months.. and see for yurself!
[09:27] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): how does a newbie gt welcomed for example?
[09:27] Clover Dezno: we try to get people involved in keeping the community fresh and active, they have a sense of “ownership”
[09:27] Etheria Parrott: We have themed months throughout the year such as schi-fi month, steampunk month etc
[09:27] Teal Freenote: http://www.raglanshire.com/
[09:28] Wynx Whiplash: list of events there
[09:28] Wynx Whiplash: on the raglanshire.com
[09:28] 01 Hifeng: xD yeah, chins are amazing
[09:28] Zayn Till: thats raglan shire in second life link there 🙂
[09:28] Clover Dezno: we have a VERY active chat group where tinies gtet to know each other, and cna just be as silly as theyw ant
[09:28] karmagirl Avro: oh we have a welcome center 😀 full of free stuff for new tinies
[09:28] Carl Solutionary (carlicann): Do you have something life a welcome area for new people? Which sim?
[09:28] 01 Hifeng: your avatars look similar… they look a bit like bunnies at some angles, heh
[09:28] Wynx Whiplash: yesh! Gestures, cool stuffs
[09:29] Bathsheba Vizenor (bathsheba.darkfold): thanks! can human avatars visit?
[09:29] Wynx Whiplash: of course!!!
[09:29] Bathsheba Vizenor (bathsheba.darkfold): and be sometimes tiny?
[09:29] Clover Dezno: We have a sandbox area on Raglan Shire also, where tinies can build, play, dance, socialize
[09:29] Wynx Whiplash: I’m a biggie very often
[09:29] Bathsheba Vizenor (bathsheba.darkfold): cool thanks!
[09:29] Clover Dezno: humans are veyr welcome!
[09:29] Teal Freenote: Welcome Center: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Raglan%20Shire/170/124/41
[09:29] Wynx Whiplash: and they hug my knees a lot.
[09:29] Bathsheba Vizenor (bathsheba.darkfold): sweet!
[09:29] Clover Dezno: we won;t bite your ankles
[09:29] Etheria Parrott: and we have Raglan U – tinies teaching tinies
[09:29] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): nice!
[09:30] Clover Dezno: there are also rental parcels on the sims, so the tinies cna live where they play
[09:30] karmagirl Avro: I can’t make that promise about ankle biting or paw chopping. im a squabbit we a bit feral. „ã°
[09:30] Etheria Parrott: We teach building and scripting skills to help people yo build our complicated clothimng and other cool stuff
[09:30] Clover Dezno: fundamentally, we stay totally in character and true to the tinies “brand”, so people feel comfortbale and at home there
[09:31] Clover Dezno: we allow and encourage people thatw e trust to have events or activities
[09:31] Etheria Parrott: Biggies are of course welcome to join in
[09:31] Clover Dezno: it is a very inclusive community
[09:31] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): how often does your average tiny spend in inworld, you think?
[09:31] Bathsheba Vizenor (bathsheba.darkfold): so you should try to have a story for yourself-a persona when you are tiny?
[09:31] Wynx Whiplash: interesting question
[09:31] Zayn Till: i would have no idea myself. probably varies?
[09:31] Clover Dezno: not necessarily Bath, we are not a role play community
[09:31] Teal Freenote: No its not role paly, but if you hang round tinies much, you will see each is unique
[09:32] Zayn Till: oh yes very true.. not a role play group by any means
[09:32] Etheria Parrott: some have disabilities and stay on for many hours every day and others work during the day and come there to chill after work
[09:32] Clover Dezno: when I say “in character”, I mean tiny avis, and as much silliness as makes you happy 🙂
[09:32] Wynx Whiplash: You don’t *need* a persona, but people usually develop them over time. They become attached to their avatars
[09:32] Bathsheba Vizenor (bathsheba.darkfold): /me nods! I get it! I went to one of your dances and had a ton of fun!
[09:32] Zayn Till: ~*~ OSSM!!!~*~
[09:32] Zayn Till: 🙂
[09:32] Teal Freenote: And some culture has developed over the years … language, behaviors, silly jokes.
[09:32] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): so perhaps at a minimum once a day?
[09:32] Wynx Whiplash: WAFFLES
[09:33] Zayn Till: ***Yeap***
[09:33] Zayn Till: could be ..
[09:33] karmagirl Avro: someone said dancing 😀
[09:33] Clover Dezno: it is a place where peopel can truly go and experience a second childhood, get the weight of the real world off thier shoulders for a little bit, and not have to deal wiht much of the drama that we see in biggie sims
[09:33] Teal Freenote: woooohooo
[09:33] Etheria Parrott: yes at any one time you will see a very long list of memebers on our Frinds of Raglan Shire chat group list
[09:33] Clover Dezno: like any other sim, the active population cycles over time
[09:33] Etheria Parrott: typos hell today 😉
[09:33] karmagirl Avro: ::FAINT!::
[09:34] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): I think there is a real challenge in bridging the gap between online communities primarily focsed on fun and socializing and the serious issues and causes we ahve represented here.
[09:34] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): we also have fun events and dances, but probably not the kind of constant engagement that you guys sustain.
[09:34] Zayn Till: for an example of community creativeness, involvement and fun.. heres a video of last weeks Raglan SHire Steam Punk Mardi Gras Parade we had.. we invited the community to make parades and be in the parade. we had 25 floats as created by communuity members. it was amazing to see. 🙂 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0RUWsEV240
[09:35] Zayn Till: parade floats 🙂
[09:35] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): nice!
[09:35] Clover Dezno: there is Rik, but we believe that the FUN is one path to helping others
[09:35] karmagirl Avro: /me adjusts her birdnest hairdo and gives the birds a treat
[09:36] Clover Dezno: if we cna put a smile on people’s faces when they come to Raglan,m then we have already done soem good. If we can take that smile and turn it into something real, like in kickstarter, then we will have accomplished something worthwhile
[09:36] Clover Dezno: because if we cna make it throught his difficult period of resource gathering, we feel that we cna really be a force for good.
[09:36] Zayn Till: but the combination of Cute adorable critters, a whimsical backdrop on which to tell stories against, and a goal of using it all to do some actual good beyond just making a buck .. THIS is what we’re trying to do with Jazz apws as we take all of this to the next stage,
[09:37] Clover Dezno: YESH
[09:37] Zayn Till: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:37] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): Bringing joy and fun to people’s lives is itself a laudable cause, so we wish you luck with this
[09:37] Clover Dezno: JAZZ PAWS!
[09:37] Wynx Whiplash: Thank you, Rik!!!
[09:37] Teal Freenote: ***Woot Woot ***
[09:37] Zayn Till: Thanks for letting us come and talk with you all today!!
[09:37] Etheria Parrott: thank you 🙂
[09:37] Rik Panganiban (rik.riel): and we’d love you guys to come back for some of our events and parties with the “biggies”
[09:37] karmagirl Avro: i feel like tiny vanna white
[09:37] karmagirl Avro: ~*~ GO TEAM TINY!!!!!! ~*~
