Creations for Parkinson’s for the September 5th NonProfit Commons Meeting

This Friday, September 5th, TechSoup’s NonProfit Commons in Second Life will feature Barbara Richards (Barbie Alchemi in SL) and Fran Swenson (Fran Seranade in SL) of Creations for Parkinson’s. Barbie introduced her 87 year old mother Fran to Second Life, where she has been able to run, swim, and dance freely again, as well as finding friends and a support community that is part of their Creations Park sim

Through their Creations for Parkinson’s, Team Fox group events, sales and fundraisers, they have also raised thousands of dollars for the Michael J. Fox Foundation to go towards Parkinson’s research.

Team FOX is The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) grassroots community fundraising program. It is made up of thousands of people worldwide who raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease research. All funds raised through Team Fox go directly to MJFF to further its mission to accelerate the delivery of life-changing treatments, and ultimately a cure, to people with Parkinson’s disease.
Five million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease, a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder. There is no known cure for Parkinson’s disease.
