Whole Brain Health for the December 5th NonProfit Commons Weekly Meeting

This Friday, December 5th, TechSoup’s NonProfit Commons in Second Life will feature Lynne Berrett (Lissena Wisdomseeker in SL) and Thuja Hynes, with a presentation on Inspiration Island and the Whole Brain Health Program

Whole Brain Health is a holistic lifestyle approach to lifelong well being based on current brain research drawn from a variety of relevant fields. Inspiration Island is designed both to teach its principles and provide opportunities to practice them regularly within the virtual sim environment. They do this through facilitated programs led by some twenty partners and through interactive self-directed activities.

The Whole Brain Health Project is committed to providing stimulating and challenging immersive experiences in virtual worlds that promote human wellbeing across the lifespan and especially as people age. They offer research-based educational activities that residents can enjoy regularly in-world and transfer to their physical lives out-of-world as well. Their goal is also to bring more people in-world who cannot participate in physical world programs, giving them the benefit of the same offerings online.
