Nonprofit Games Brainstorm Bash Revisited

On Sunday, 05.23.2010 the Nonprofit Commons held a brainstorming session in New York City that was streamed into Second Life. This mixed reality event brought interested people from all types of disciplines together to share their ideas and imagine what an NPCGame would look like. Here is my breakdown of the chat transcript, organized for clarity for your viewing pleasure. If I left anything off, feel free to discuss this in the NPCGames Google Group

Our Goals

To launch a community and create a collaborative game for nonprofits focusing on a specific mission/campaign/issue

“Virtual Activism” mixed-reality event today at 10:15AM in Plush Non-profit Commons

Just a reminder that the 4th annual Games for Change conference will feature a mixed-reality panel today on "virtual activism" at 10:15AM EST. Games for Change brings together game developers, industry experts, academics and non-profits to discuss how to use digital games to promote social change.

The "virtual activism" panel will feature several experts on non-profits in Second Life including Glitteractica Cookie of Techsoup, In Kenzo of Amoration, Jeska Linden of Linden Labs and moderator Beth Kanter. Jeska will be participating from within SL, while Glitter, In Kenzo and Beth will be at the physical conference venue.  SL participants will be able to submit questions via IM to the panelists. The in-world event will take place in the amphitheater in the Plush Non-profit Commons sim (teleport SLURL.)
