Burn2 Festival of Art & Community for July 28th Nonprofit Commons Meeting
Join us Friday, July 28th for the NonProfit Commons in Second Life meeting, which will feature organizers from BURN2 who will share info on the art festival, upcoming events, and the culture and community principles.
BURN2 is an extension of the Burning Man festival and community into the world of Second Life. It is an officially sanctioned Burning Man Regional, the only virtual world Regional out of more than 100 Regional groups worldwide, and is the only Regional to burn the Man! http://burn2.org

Intro to Screen Capture and Live Streaming for the June 16th NonProfit Commons Meeting
Join us Friday, June 16th for the Nonprofit Commons in Second Life meeting, which will feature Michael Bailey (Marcus Llewellyn in Second Life), who will present on how to screen capture and stream live. In this hands-on workshop, you will be walked through the steps of using free and open source tools and your computer to capture your screen or camera (whether for machinima or classroom instruction) and also how to stream live to YouTube.
If you want to follow along and participate in the workshop, make sure to download and install the open-source app Open Broadcaster Software at https://obsproject.com and have a verified YouTube account that you can login to http://www.youtube.com/verify
Michael Bailey has been working with technology for the past 24 years. Originally a programmer, he discovered Second Life in 2007, and then became invested in the OpenSimulator project in 2009. Since then, he has acquired expertise scripting and building in virtual environments, as well as familiarity with the OpenSimulator software and it’s configuration. As an open source advocate, he makes heavy use of tools such as Blender and Open Broadcaster Studio. He’s streamed for the OpenSimulator Community Conference (OSCC) since 2014. He was instrumental in the OSCC 2016 live streaming setup, coordination, training, and A/V promotional materials. Currently a staff member at AvaCon Inc., he is dedicated to promoting projects for social good by means of video tutorials, presentations on useful software, and content creation.
