Join us Friday, April 28th for the NonProfit Commons in Second Life meeting, which will feature Dieter Heyne (Edward Tarber in Second Life) who will discuss web-based virtual worlds, along with the synergies between browser and conventional virtual worlds.

 

Dieter Heyne is a Computer Scientist, Software Architect, Virtual World Creator, and Metaverse traveler who has spent the last three years developing cybaLOUNGE, a web browser based virtual world.

Following the meeting we will get a chance to tour a nonprofit meeting area in cybaLOUNGE, a 3D virtual world running entirely in your browser, which allows you to explore different locations, meet people, talk, and listen to music, presentations, or watch a movie.

Earth Day Climate Change Film Screening for April 21, 2017 Nonprofit Commons Meeting

 
Earth Day takes place this weekend on April 22nd, and to kick this off, Friday, April 21st, NonProfit Commons in Second Life will feature a virtual film screening of the film “Before The Flood” followed by discussion.

Exploring VWBPE for the March 31 Nonprofit Commons Meeting

Supporting Brain Injury for the March 17 Nonprofit Commons Meeting

Join us this Friday, March 17th for the Nonprofit Commons in Second Life meeting featuring Gloria Kraegel (Namaara MacMoragh in SL) presenting on how Brain Injury affects individuals, families, and workplaces. This presentation will address some low cost and useful ideas for employers and individuals with cognitive challenges to work together and create an accommodating and productive workplace.

Gloria’s current project with the Brain Energy Support Team (BEST) gives her an even greater opportunity to blend real life situations with Second Life experiences that raise awareness, model healthy living skills, and provide educational opportunities for individuals, professionals, classrooms, and businesses within, and outside of, the brain injury community.
