Join us Friday, October 18th for the Nonprofit Commons in Second Life meeting, which will feature an intro to Discord. Discord is a text0chat and Voice Over IP (VOIP) tool that allows you to create or join social community chat servers and channels (similar to Slack), post text chat and photo/videos (like Facebook groups), join group voice chat (like Teamspeak), and direct call people (like Skype). Come learn about Discord and how you can use it for your professional educational / nonprofit team or social community.

Open Forum for the October 11th Nonprofit Commons Meeting

Fake News for Senior Citizens for October 4th Nonprofit Commons Meeting

Join us Friday, October 4 at 8:30 AM SLT at the Nonprofit Commons in Second Life where Valerie Hill / Valibrarian of the Community Virtual Library is presenting “Fake News for Senior Citizens”. She will be sharing how to spot fake news online and strategies on how to check sources and not contribute to misinformation sharing. And….this session is applicable to all age groups- not just seniors
Gentle Heron will also do a brief mentor’s presentation on how to “Safeguard Your Attention at Work.”

9/6 NPC Meeting: All About The Fact’s Game Show

This Friday, September 6th at the Nonprofit Commons in Second Life, Kent Danitz is presenting “All About The Fact’s Game Show”. AATF is an inworld educational game show that is a not for profit group helping to educate and create fun for others in Second Life. He will be sharing about how they got started in SL, what games they do, and about their educational program. To quote Kent, “I have been in SL since early 2009, I have to always been one to give give give and help help help.
